Hello and welcome to my portfolio.

I'm Emanuel Younanzadeh and I've been painting large-format oils and acrylics for the past 30 years. Color and visual energy is the goal to my work. I hope you enjoy the collection.

The emotional textures of accidental form provide a chaotic backdrop for uncertainty on which to create a dreamscape. The work is intended to provide warmth and the great satisfaction found in random occurrence. The eye is challenged to be still while the mind develops a story.

I first began painting abstracts in 1984 with commissioned work for the Spark Int’l MacWorld Expo in San Francisco. Untitled, the work is 4x5 meters, acrylic on canvas. I continued to paint through the 90's in Germany and then switched to more oil on canvas when I returned to the United States.

My work is influenced by Agam and his methods of conveying the interplay of conscious and unconscious forces and the fusion of feeling, form, color and movement. I'm also further influenced by jazz and classical music; therefore I call it ”music for the eyes!”

Some of my work is collected and exhibited in Berlin, Hamburg, Chicago, New York and San Francisco.
